Amy Faulkner Introduced as Head Cheerleading Coach

IMG_5630+2.jpg

Tuesday, May 7th — The St. Francis DeSales Administration and Athletic Department is extremely excited to introduce Amy Faulkner as our new cheerleading coach!  Amy is not new to the St. Francis DeSales community as she serves as the Director of Alumni and Family Engangement and the proud mother of current SFD students Owen '20 and Abby '22 and future SFD student Adam (class of 2025)

Amy is a nationally recognized cheer coach and the owner of Midwest Cheer Elite. Amy was named 2014 National Coach of the Year, as voted on by Americheer, Ameridance, and Cheer Professional Magazine. This recognition was the result of years of hard work and dedication to the sport of cheerleading. From a young age, Amy immersed herself in the sport and her commitment was rewarded when she garnered a spot on the University of Akron cheer squad. After college, which saw her serve as captain of the school’s cheer team, Amy continued her involvement in cheerleading. She is a certified U.S. All Star Cheerleading Federation coach and has over 10 years of coaching experience with All Star and high school programs.  She opened up Northstar Studios in 2008 to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning a gym, where she can share her enthusiasm and love of cheerleading with generations to come. Since opening Northstar, now known as Midwest Cheer Elite, Amy has coached over thirty national championship cheer teams, two of which were nationally ranked squads.

Current Students and Incoming Freshman that were unable to attend tonights meeting are asked to email Coach Amy at faulkner@desales.co or stop by her office in the Franciscan Center by Friday, May 10th to get more information about the program and upcoming clinics.
