Female Athlete of the Week - Megan Husslein

The first edition of the St. Francis DeSales Female Springs Sports Athlete of the Week (4/2 - 4/8), presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is sophomore Megan Husslein.

Megan went 10-for-15 and drove in eight runs in four games during the Softball team's trip to Myrtle Beach.

Male Athlete of the Week - Will Cotter

The first edition of the St. Francis DeSales Male Spring Sports Athlete of the Week (4/2 - 4/8), presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is senior pitcher Will Cotter.

Will appeared in three games during the Baseball team's trip to Myrtle Beach earning two wins, allowing zero runs in 11.3 innings!

2018-2019 TRYOUT INFORMATION

Pre-Tryout Informational Meeting:

Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 7:00pm in SFD Little Theater

• This meeting is for all interested candidates trying out for the 2018-2019 season.
• Incoming freshman parents are encouraged to attend. Please email us if you have a conflict.

Tryout Date:

Friday, May 4, 2018 beginning at 4:00pm in SFD Gym

• Attire: Plain white t-shirt, purple shorts, tennis shoes and hair pulled back. No jewelry.
• Attendance is required, unless otherwise excused by coaches prior to tryouts. Please email us if you have a conflict.
• Upperclassman will tryout first, incoming freshman last. Tryout order/groups will be made at clinics.

Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 6-8pm in SFD gym

Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 6-8pm in SFD gym

Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 6-7:30pm in SFD gym

• If you are selected for any of the squads, please plan to attend this very important meeting. We will discuss the program moving forward, team rules, schedules, activities, events, fundraising, gear orders, cheer camps and more.
• If a cheerleader and at least one parent/guardian are not present it will be assumed that you are giving up your spot on the team. Please contact the coaches with any questions or conflicts prior to the meeting.

ABOUT: 

The 2018 Stallion Basketball Academy will accept boys in  grades 3-8 who are serious about working on their basketball skill development.  We will work on the following skills in each 90 minute sessions:

1. Ball Handling

2. Passing and Catching

3. Pivoting and Footwork

4. Finishing Around the Basket

5. Shooting

6. One on One Moves

REGISTRATION INFO:  

The cost is $50.  Each Stallion Basketball Academy participant will receive a T-Shirt.

The first 40 applicants to register will get a reserved spot.  Payment is due by Wednesday, April 11. We will contact waiting list applicants after April 11.

Female Athlete of the Week - Erin Burns

The third edition of the St. Francis DeSales Female Winter Sports Athlete of the Week (2/5 - 2/10), presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is junior guard Erin Burns.

Erin had a career-high 17 points on Thursday (2/8) at Bishop Hartley.  She made 4-of-5 three point attempts, had three assists and five rebounds.

Male Athlete of the Week - Ian McCandlish

The third edition of the St. Francis DeSales Male Winter Sports Athlete of the Week (2/5 - 2/10), presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is junior swimmer Ian McCandlish.

Ian qualified for the District Swim Meet in two individual events and was a part of two District-qualifying relays.

Female Athlete of the Week - Alex Foos

The third edition of the St. Francis DeSales Female Winter Sports Athlete of the Week (1/29 - 2/3), presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is senior gymnast Alex Foos.

"Last week Alex has really stepped her work ethic in practice and It's really showing in her meet scores. She's a scholar athlete with over a 4.0. In our last meet at Marysville, Alex placed 3rd All-Around with her highest all around score of the season. She hopes to keep bumping all of her scores up by districts!"

Male Athlete of the Week - Adam Graver

The third edition of the St. Francis DeSales Male Winter Sports Athlete of the Week (1/29 - 2/3), presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is junior hockey player, Adam Graver.

"Adam shows great athleticism and dedication. In our win over Gahanna this past Friday Adam scored 2 of the 6 goals and assisted in one of them. Even though our record is not "winning" Adam, one of the captains, along with the other team leaders keeps the attitude positive and the energy high. On the ice he gives 110% and with our short roster he is on the ice more playing both defense and then to return as an offensive player"

Female Athlete of the Week - Kaitlyn O'Reilly

The second edition of the St. Francis DeSales Female Winter Sports Athlete of the Week (1/22 - 1/29), presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is senior gymnast Kaitlyn O'Reilly.

Kaitlyn earned a spot on the podium in two events (bars, vault) at the Dawg House Challenge last Saturday at Tri-Valley.

Male Athlete of the Week - Cole Potts

The second edition of the St. Francis DeSales Male Winter Sports Athlete of the Week (1/22 -1/27), presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is sophomore wrestler Cole Potts.

Cole went 5-0 last Saturday (1/27) in the Jimmy Wood Memorial Invitational at New Lexington.

Female Athlete of the Week - Mary Ruff

The first edition of the St. Francis DeSales Female Winter Sports Athlete of the Week (1/15 -1/21), presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is senior swimmer Mary Ruff.

Mary helped lead the Girls Swim Team to a second place finish at the Stars Invitational on Saturday (1/20), winning two events.

Derden tallied 58 points, 24 rebounds and 4 blocks in three wins for the Stallions last week.

Female Athlete of the Week - Faith Corn

The seventh edition of the St. Francis DeSales Female Athlete of the Week (10/2 -10/7, presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is freshman golfer Faith Corn.

Faith finished tied for 14th at the Division-I Sectional last week by leading the Stallions with an 88 to cap-off a great beginning to her career at DeSales

Male Athlete of the Week - Chase Agin

The 7th edition of the St. Francis DeSales Male Athlete of the Week (10/2-10/7), presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is senior goalie Chase Agin.  

Chase helped lead the Stallions to two shutouts last week, including a 2-0 victory over St. Charles to win the 2017 Central Catholic League Championship.

The Boys Soccer Team wins the 2017 CCL Championship

The Boys Soccer team beat St. Charles on Tuesday (10/4) 2-0 to clinch the outright Central Catholic League Championship.  Hector Gomez scored each goal as the Stallions improved to 12-0-1 and captured the program's 19th league title.  The Stallions, ranked number one in Division-II, finished league play with a 4-0 record and outscored their opponents 39-0.  

Male Athlete of the Week - Andrew Richards

The 6th edition of the St. Francis DeSales Male Athlete of the Week (9/25-9/30), presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is senior golfer Andrew Richards!

Andrew shot a team-low 83 at the Division-II Sectional Tournament to help the Stallions advance to the 2017 District Tournament!

Female Athlete of the Week - Emma Brown

The sixth edition of the St. Francis DeSales Female Athlete of the Week (9/25-9/30), presented by Farmers Insurance Group, is sophomore volleyball player Emma Brown.

Emma helped lead the Stallions to two key CCL victories last week against Bishop Hartley and Bishop Watterson as the Stallions won the 2017 league championship with a perfect 8-0 record.  The Stallions, ranked 8th in Division-I, also defeated Pickerington Central on Saturday to improve to 15-2 overall.
