Recap:

In a rematch of the Central District final, Pete Mudre and Darrin Pangalangan would face Gary Fry and John Hixon from St. Charles in the State Final.  The Stallions lost that District Final despite being the top seed going into the Tournament.  In the Class AA State Final, The Cardinals duo took set one 7-6 (5-0).  In the second set, DeSales broke serve twice, down 5-3, to force a tie-break, which they won 5-1.  Mudre and Pangalangan broke Hixon's serve twice in the third set to win the 1982 Class AA State Doubles Championship 6-2.
