ATHLETIC CAMPS

All four day Athletic Camps are $75.
Listed below are the remaining camps for Summer 2017:

BASEBALL

June 12 - 15
Grades 4-9
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Baseball players will receive group and individual instruction on all skill aspects of the game from St. Francis DeSales coaching staff and current players.  No prior baseball training needed. 
Optional items to bring: bat, glove, helmet, water bottle.  

BOYS BASKETBALL

Boys Basketball I  June 26 - 29
Grades 3-6

Boys Basketball II  June 19 - 22
Grades 7-9
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The Stallion basketball camp is a great opportunity to increase your overall basketball skill level and knowledge of the game. Not only will the DeSales coaching staff help you individually as a player on both ends of the court, but they will teach you to execute many of the same drills our varsity players use in order to master the key fundamentals of basketball.  In addition, campers will also compete in 1-on-1, 3-on-3, and 5-on-5 tournaments!

The Stallion basketball camp is a great opportunity to meet and learn from the current coaches and players, as well as increase your overall basketball skill level and knowledge of the game. Not only will our coaching staff help improve your game individually, we will also introduce you to many of the concepts we teach our very own varsity team.  Campers will also compete in a multitude of competitions including Dribble Knockout, Speed Lay-Up, Free Throw, Hot Shot, 1-on-1, 3-on-3, and 5-on-5 tournaments!

CHEERLEADING

July 10 - 13
Grades 1-8
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Come cheer with the Stallions!  All campers will learn motions, jumps, chants and a dance during this 4-day session led by the current DeSales Cheerleaders.  On the last day of camp, the girls will showcase their new skills in a team performance for family and friends.  We also invite the campers to cheer with the Varsity Football cheerleaders at a home game during the regular season!  *All campers are required to wear tennis shoes and encouraged to bring a water bottle.

 

ENDURANCE & CROSS COUNTRY

June 26 - 29
Grades 3-9
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
*Boys and Girls

Our Endurance (Distance and Cross Country) camp focuses on building the complete runner. That focus includes training runs, work on dynamic drills, understanding the different types of workouts, and plenty more. You will spend time training with our Track & Field Distance and Cross Country runners.

FOOTBALL

July 10 - 13
Grades 1 - 8
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Come spend a week with the coaching staff and players of St. Francis DeSales.  Campers will be instructed on basic fundamentals of offense, defense, and special teams by position.  "Heads up tackling" and other safety techniques will be emphasized.  They will also participate in games, competitions, as well as a Stallion Football league.  Attendees will receive a highlight video of the 2016 Football Season, a t-shirt, and a Rib Dinner!  Come join the finest football camp experience in Central Ohio.

 

BOYS LACROSSE

June 19 - 22
Grades 4 - 9
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

With a focus on the youth game, the boys lacrosse camp will focus on the fundamentals to build their game. With new drills, games, and skills, the boys will learn how to have fun while building skill.

GIRLS LACROSSE

June 19 - 22
Grades 4 - 9
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Organized drills for the beginner to the more advanced players.  Emphasis of camp will be teaching rules of the game while having fun playing lacrosse and building confidence.  Campers are required to bring a lacrosse stick, goggles, and mouth piece. 

BOYS SOCCER

June 26 - 29
Grades 1-9
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Technical and individual skills instruction in a fun atmosphere.  Small sided games where technical skills meet game like conditions.  Having fun while learning.  Bring ball and water. 

GIRLS SOCCER

July 10 - 13
Grades 1-8
5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Campers will build their soccer skills and knowledge during the week with a different soccer focus each day.  Camp directors will bring lots of energy, fun and knowledge to camp each day to help your camper leave a better soccer player. *Shin guards are required.

SOFTBALL

Softball All Skills I  June 19 - 22
Grades 1-9

Softball Advanced Skills II  June 19 - 22
Grades 6-9
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

The Stallion Softball Program is offering two camp sessions this summer. The morning session will focus on individual skill development for players of all ages. Players will be split into grade and skill appropriate groups. Instruction will focus on infield and outfield positional play, as well as proper hitting and bunting technique. The afternoon session is an advanced session for middle school players preparing for competitive high school play. Instruction will focus on defensive and offensive strategy. Players in grades 6-9 that are interested in playing high school softball are encouraged to attend both sessions for a full day of training and fun!

SPEED & AGILITY

June 19 - 22

Our Speed camp focuses on the core skills in many sports; acceleration and running fast. Our athletes go back to track, football, soccer, basketball, baseball teams, and more with greater confidence, capability, and speed. Speed Camp athletes will learn techniques, workouts, drills, and injury prevention routines that we use in our SFD Track & Field program

BOYS/GIRLS TENNIS

July 10 - 13
Grades 4-9
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Campers will learn tennis techniques from beginners to advanced. Open to both boys and girls. Wear tennis shoes and bring a racket. 

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Girls Volleyball I  July 17 - 20
Grades 4-6

Girls Volleyball II  July 17 - 20

Four days of intense instruction from coaching staff and DeSales players.  Daily focus on a specific skill set, with game play at the end of each session. Fast pace with lots of fun!

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

July 10 - 13
Grades 4-9
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Camp focused on teaching the fundamentals of volleyball passing, setting, serving, and attacking.  All experience levels can benefit from the instruction and technique drills. Two days of indoor volleyball and one day of grass volleyball including team play and completion. 

WRESTLING

Wrestling I  July 17 - 20
Grades 1-6
9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Wrestling II  June 12 - 15
Grades 7-12
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Grades 1-6 Camp Teaches fundamentals of wrestling, including proper stretching, tumbling, stance, shots, and the top/bottom position. Two games per session! Fun will be had by all who attend! Please bring wrestling shoes (or socks) and a water bottle. 


Grades 7-12 Camp teaches advanced technique and strategy. Planning for nutrition, lifting programs, and sport psychology will be presented. Competitive games are fun for everyone who attend! Wrestling shoes and a water bottle are required.

 Congratulations to the 2017-18 St. Francis DeSales Cheerleading Squads! Coach Alexa & Coach Jenna could not be more proud of the effort showcased during clinics and tryouts this week. We are so excited to kick off a new season with an outstanding group of girls! GO STALLIONS!

We look forward to meeting all of the new & returning members on Monday, April 24th for the MANDATORY Parent/Cheerleader Meeting at 7:00pm in the cafeteria. New Members - please come at 6:30 for a uniform fitting.

Darcy Cahill named Head Hockey Coach

St. Francis DeSales High School has announced that Darcy Cahill has been appointed as its Head Hockey Coach.  Cahill was most recently the Head Coach at Dublin Coffman High School.  

Before entering the coaching ranks, Cahill played professional hockey for 12 years.  In 1989, he was selected by Vancouver in the 12th round (239th overall) of the NHL Entry Draft.
